The last return of the best show on television!

I’m pretty excited if you couldn’t tell. Yes, currently, I would call Breaking Bad just that. The best show out there. Better than Game of Thrones, you ask? Yeah, I’ll make that claim. And I’ll be the first to tell you, I usually can’t stand other shows in the crime genre. Every crime drama/cop drama is more or less the same, and that’s average at best. I don’t think BB really fits into that same category, but it’s probably the closest fit.

Breaking Bad has a fantastic set of characters. And that’s exactly what they are, characters, right down to their quirky names. Also, the story never beats around the bush. No filler, no season by season resets, no just-cause nudity. Heck there are almost no “good looking” people in the entire cast, relative to what we see in television these days. The overall feel, the quality of the writing, the pacing, it’s a masterpiece, and I don’t throw that word around very often. Even the show’s growing popularity from a fairly small initial following (I didn’t start watching it until a couple of summers ago) has not appeared to have influenced the execution.

So there you have it. Breaking Bad makes its long-awaited return tonight. One of the main actors described the final stretch as “a roller coaster ride through hell” (or something along those lines). Not a direct quote, but you get the point. It is going to be incredible, and that’s that. It doesn’t get much better than knowing a show, a movie, a book, night out, etc. is destined to be an experience of the highest quality before it even begins.

  1. I got introduced to the show by a friend and I got instantly hooked. I stayed up all night and part of a day watching from Season 1 to Season 3. It indeed is the best show out there in my opinion. Can’t wait!

    1. Same type of thing happened to me. We got caught up in no time.

      1. It was especially interesting watching Walt’s transformation into a sick Chemistry teacher who you feel sorry, to someone who has you on the fence wondering if you should sympathize with him, to someone who probably needs to be dead to preserve the welfare of the people around him. Topnotch character development for practically every single person in that show.

        1. Completely agree. It’s been great the whole way through. Not easy to do when the characters change as much as they have. They’ve really done it well.
